Sortables:

ARIA Live and Screen Readers

With keyboard support in place, it’s easy to assume that visually impaired users have everything they need in order to interact with our sortable. In fact, that’s not always the case. In this final sortable lesson, we’ll fire up a screen reader to hear the problem first-hand. In doing so, we’ll find that the nature of custom web components often create challenges we must overcome in order to facilitate accessible interaction. Finally, we’ll implement ARIA live content within our application to help improve the screen reader experience and explain to users exactly what’s going on at any given time.
